1946 Inaugural flights by Deccan Airways
In July 1946, Hyderabad State Airways was reorganised and renamed Deccan Airways. Following this reorganisation, the airline inaugurated regular air services on the Hyderabad–Delhi route and a longer route connecting Madras – Hyderabad – Nagpur – Bhopal – Gwalior – Delhi. These services were operated using Douglas DC-3 aircraft, which were widely used for passenger and mail transport during that period.
